Foreigner Rice is an independent production and photography studio & press led by Director of Content & Production Liz Groeschen. The studio develops original media properties, multi-platform brand campaigns, and independent publications, combining creative vision with scalable production systems.
Liz has led projects across documentary, branded media, live production, photography, and print, overseeing work from concept through delivery. Her clients and collaborators include B&H Photo, Creative Mornings, National Geographic, and The New York Knicks, as well as notable locations such as The Netherlands, Great Falls, Montana, and The Research Triangle — all while building scalable systems to manage creative teams and content pipelines.
Her studio work includes Cutting It Up, a collage-meets-talk show exploring culture and creativity, and The Let Go Docs, a short documentary series currently in post-production. Earlier in her career, Liz co-founded Seoul Sub→urban, a 3-year documentary photography project that evolved from a weekly blog into a magazine column and book, and produced 443 Days Around the World, an independent multimedia travel series — all projects that showcase her ability to develop original media from concept to execution.
Foreigner Rice combines creative leadership with hands-on production, delivering original media, portrait and lifestyle photography, and small-press editions for print fairs and independent collectors. The name Foreigner Rice is inspired by Liz’s decade of living and traveling around the world, and is the name of her future food truck, which she dreams of operating one day.
